Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing surfaces in classrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies regularly.
- Empty waste bins and transport trash and waste to designated disposal areas.
- Maintain floors (stripping, waxing, buffing) and ensure all areas are kept in a tidy and orderly condition.
- Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks (e.g., changing light bulbs, fixing small leaks, tightening loose fixtures).
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, notifying management when reordering is necessary.
- Ensure all security procedures are followed, including locking doors and windows at the end of the day.
- Assist with setting up and taking down equipment for school events and activities.
- Report any major maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damage to school property promptly.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and school policies.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in custodial or cleaning services, preferably in a school or institutional setting.
- Strong understanding of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
