Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tax Analyst specializing in Corporate Tax to join our growing finance team in Scarborough, Toronto. This pivotal role involves taking a lead in managing the company’s corporate tax compliance, planning, and reporting functions. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review Canadian corporate income tax returns (T2) and associated schedules for various entities.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate income tax provisions (ASC 740 / IFRS) and related financial statement disclosures.
- Conduct thorough tax research and analysis on complex tax issues, providing clear recommendations to management.
- Assist in the planning and execution of tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position while ensuring compliance.
- Support tax audits and inquiries from federal and provincial tax authorities.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., legal, accounting, treasury) on tax implications of business transactions and projects.
- Prepare and file various tax information returns and government filings as required.
- Stay current with changes in Canadian tax legislation, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Identify and implement process improvements within the tax function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members if applicable.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation (CA, CGA, or CMA) is mandatory.
- Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in Canadian corporate income tax, either in public accounting or industry.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian income tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards (IFRS/ASPE).
- Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., Taxprep, GoSystem) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Taxation or completion of a specialized tax course (e.g., In-Depth Tax Course).
