Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Collective Bargaining Specialist to join our dedicated team in Medicine Hat, Alberta. This crucial role involves leading and supporting all facets of the collective bargaining process, from preparation and negotiation to contract implementation and grievance resolution. You will be instrumental in fostering positive labour relations, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and developing strategies that align with organizational objectives while respecting employee rights and interests.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in collective bargaining negotiations, developing strategies and proposals.
- Draft, interpret, and administer collective agreements, ensuring compliance and effective implementation.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on labour relations issues to management and HR teams.
- Conduct research and analysis of collective agreement language, arbitration decisions, and labour market trends.
- Manage and resolve grievances, participating in conciliation, mediation, and arbitration processes.
- Develop and deliver training sessions on collective agreement provisions and labour relations best practices.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labour legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align bargaining strategies with organizational goals.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and recommendations on bargaining outcomes and labour relations matters.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of direct experience in collective bargaining and labour relations.
- Proven track record of successful negotiation and contract administration.
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian labour law and employment standards (specifically Alberta).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or post-graduate certificate in Labour Relations or Law.
- Professional designation (e.g., CPHR, CRHP).
