Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and produce engaging radio programs, segments, and promotional spots from concept to broadcast.
  • Manage program schedules, content calendars, and ensure timely delivery of all broadcast materials.
  • Direct on-air talent, including hosts and guests, providing feedback and guidance to enhance broadcast quality.
  • Operate and maintain studio equipment, including audio mixing consoles, recording software, and broadcast automation systems.
  • Source and select music, sound effects, and voice-overs to complement program content and station branding.
  • Conduct research for program topics, interviews, and news segments, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Edit audio content, including interviews, commercials, and program features, to meet broadcast standards and time constraints.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and programming teams to align content with strategic objectives and promotional campaigns.
  • Ensure all broadcasts comply with industry regulations, licensing requirements, and station policies.
  • Monitor live broadcasts for technical quality, addressing any issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Engage with listeners through various platforms (social media, calls) to gather feedback and foster community interaction.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Audacity)
  • Strong understanding of broadcast production workflows and technologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of directing talent effectively
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Creative mindset with a strong ear for sound and storytelling
  • Problem-solving abilities for technical and content-related challenges

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with CRTC regulations and broadcast compliance standards in Canada
  • Experience in multi-platform content creation (e.g., podcasts, digital video)
