Upon successful completion of your initial training, you will gain hands-on experience across diverse projects, working with various materials and piping systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in all provided training sessions, demonstrating a strong commitment to learning pipefitting techniques and safety procedures.
  • Assist experienced Pipefitters in the installation, assembly, fabrication, and maintenance of piping systems according to specifications and blueprints.
  • Learn to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure accurate pipe layout and installation.
  • Safely use and maintain hand and power tools relevant to the pipefitting trade.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies on job sites.
  • Perform general site duties, including material handling, site clean-up, and tool organisation.
  • Develop proficiency in measuring, cutting, bending, and threading pipes of various materials (e.g., steel, copper, PVC).
  • Report any safety concerns or issues to supervisors immediately.

Required Skills

  • A strong willingness and enthusiasm to learn a new trade.
  • Basic understanding of mathematics and measurement principles.
  • Good practical aptitude and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Consciousness of health and safety in a construction or industrial environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • Prior experience in any manual labour, manufacturing, or construction environment (even if unrelated to pipefitting).
  • A valid UK Driving License.
  • Basic knowledge of different tool types and their uses.
  • Enrolment or completion of a relevant college course (e.g., in engineering, construction trades).
