Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive research into current and future textile trends, color palettes, and market demands.
- Develop original textile designs, patterns, and motifs for various product categories using CAD software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Lectra Kaledo).
- Create detailed technical specifications and artwork for production, ensuring design integrity and manufacturability.
- Experiment with different fibers, yarns, and fabric structures to achieve innovative textures and finishes.
- Develop cohesive design collections and present concepts to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with the product development and manufacturing teams to oversee sampling and ensure design fidelity.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and quality standards.
- Maintain an organised library of designs, materials, and samples.
- Stay abreast of sustainable textile practices and incorporate eco-friendly solutions where possible.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Textile Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing original designs.
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and textile-specific CAD software.
- Excellent understanding of color theory, pattern repeat, and composition.
- In-depth knowledge of textile materials, weaving, knitting, printing techniques, and dyeing processes.
- Strong ability to translate design concepts into production-ready artwork.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or a related creative field.
