Your core duties will involve the meticulous processing of scheme events, including retirements, transfers, and deaths, ensuring all calculations are precise and compliant with scheme rules and current legislation. You will be responsible for the accurate calculation of member benefits, reconciliation of data, and preparation of comprehensive reports for trustees, scheme members, and regulatory bodies. Key Responsibilities
- Process and administer pension scheme events, including retirements, transfers, and deaths.
- Perform accurate calculations of member benefits, such as pensions and transfer values, adhering to scheme rules and legislation.
- Maintain and update accurate member records and scheme data on administration systems.
- Prepare, review, and check statutory and ad-hoc reports for trustees, scheme members, and regulatory bodies.
- Liaise effectively with clients, scheme actuaries, third-party administrators, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure all work is compliant with UK pension regulations, including those from The Pensions Regulator (TPR) and HMRC.
- Assist in the preparation of annual benefit statements and support the actuarial valuation processes.
- Respond to member queries in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within pension administration.
- Contribute to team projects and initiatives to enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a Pension Administrator or Pension Analyst.
- Strong understanding of UK pension regulations, particularly Defined Benefit (DB) and Defined Contribution (DC) schemes.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- A degree in a numerate discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Finance, Actuarial Science) or a relevant professional qualification.
