Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of hair services including precision cuts, advanced colouring techniques (balayage, highlights, full colour), perms, and styling for all hair types and textures.
- Conduct thorough client consultations to understand their desired look, assess hair condition, and recommend suitable services and products.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for every client.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workstation and comply with all salon safety and sanitation standards.
- Stay current with industry trends, techniques, and product knowledge through continuous education and training.
- Actively participate in salon promotions, events, and team meetings.
- Build and retain a loyal client base through rebooking, referrals, and outstanding service.
- Efficiently manage appointments and client records using salon software.
- Educate clients on proper hair care and recommend professional retail products to maintain their style and hair health at home.
Required Skills
- Valid provincial Cosmetology license.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Hair Stylist in a professional salon environment.
- Proficiency in a broad range of cutting, colouring, and styling techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong client-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- A portfolio demonstrating artistic flair and technical skill (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced training or certifications in specialized hair treatments or colouring techniques.
- Established local clientele in the Richmond area.
- Experience with salon management software and booking systems.
- Bilingualism (English and Mandarin/Cantonese) is an asset.
