As an Asphalt Worker, you will be an integral part of our crew, contributing directly to the creation and maintenance of Toronto’s roads and infrastructure. This role involves manual labour, working with asphalt and various construction materials, and operating basic equipment under expert supervision. You’ll gain hands-on experience in road preparation, paving, and finishing, learning industry best practices from seasoned professionals. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cleanup of asphalt paving sites, including clearing debris and setting up barriers.
- Operate various hand tools such as rakes, shovels, and brooms to spread and level asphalt.
- Learn to operate and assist with basic power tools and equipment like plate compactors and asphalt rollers under direct supervision.
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment from trucks safely and efficiently.
- Perform general labour duties as assigned, including digging, trenching, and maintaining a clean work area.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Work collaboratively with crew members and supervisors to ensure project tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards.
- Maintain a strong work ethic, punctuality, and a positive attitude in all working conditions.
