Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our growing team in Meanwood, Leeds. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced imaging technology in a patient-focused setting. Key Responsibilities
- Operate MRI scanners and related equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Prepare patients for MRI procedures, including explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Position patients correctly and apply appropriate imaging protocols based on requisition details and patient condition.
- Administer intravenous contrast agents as required, following strict safety protocols.
- Monitor patients during scans, paying close attention to vital signs and any signs of discomfort or adverse reactions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of all procedures performed.
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient care.
- Perform daily quality control checks on equipment and promptly report any malfunctions or issues.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including radiation safety guidelines and infection control policies.
- Assist with scheduling and patient flow to optimize departmental efficiency.
Required Skills
- HCPC registration (Health and Care Professions Council)
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a qualified MRI Technologist
- Proficiency in operating various MRI scanner models and imaging software
- Excellent knowledge of MRI safety protocols and guidelines
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology
- Ability to administer intravenous contrast agents competently
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to patient care and safety
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (e.g., PgCert MRI)
- Experience with a variety of MRI sub-specialties (e.g., neuro, musculoskeletal, cardiac)
- Familiarity with RIS/PACS systems
- Experience working in a private healthcare setting
