Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior technicians with the installation, inspection, and maintenance of clean energy systems (e.g., solar PV, battery storage, small wind).
  • Perform routine checks and preventative maintenance tasks on equipment as directed, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Help diagnose basic operational issues and perform minor repairs under direct supervision from experienced professionals.
  • Gather data, accurately record observations, and maintain detailed logs of work performed and system status.
  • Strictly adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participate actively in training programs and continuous learning initiatives to enhance technical skills and knowledge in renewable energy.
  • Support site preparation, material handling, tool organization, and maintaining a clean work area.
  • Learn and apply foundational knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems relevant to clean energy technologies.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.
  • Strong interest in renewable energy, sustainable technologies, and environmental stewardship.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving aptitude, keen attention to detail, and a proactive attitude.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and work at heights or in various weather conditions (with proper safety training).
  • Valid G-class driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with team members and documenting work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Completion of a technical diploma or certificate program in electrical, mechanical, renewable energy, sustainable technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Familiarity with workplace safety procedures (e.g., WHMIS, Working at Heights certification).
  • Prior experience in a construction, manufacturing, field service, or trades environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency for data entry and report generation.
