Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all nursing services and clinical operations.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing policies, procedures, and standards of care in accordance with provincial and federal regulations.
- Ensure the highest quality of patient care through continuous quality improvement initiatives and adherence to evidence-based practices.
- Manage, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, fostering a culture of professional growth, accountability, and teamwork.
- Oversee departmental budgeting, resource allocation, and operational efficiency to achieve financial and clinical objectives.
- Collaborate with other department heads and medical staff to promote interdisciplinary care and optimize patient outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare legislation, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
- Lead initiatives for patient safety, risk management, and infection control.
- Participate in strategic planning for the facility and contribute to the overall mission and vision of the organization.
Required Skills
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Alberta.
- Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive nursing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
- Demonstrated expertise in healthcare operations, quality assurance, and patient safety.
- Strong understanding of Canadian healthcare regulations, standards, and accreditation processes.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and large teams effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an acute care or complex continuing care setting.
- Certification in Nursing Administration (e.g., CNA Certification in Nursing Administration).
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems implementation and optimization.
