Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for assigned product categories using statistical models, market intelligence, and collaborative input from sales, marketing, and product management.
- Analyze historical sales data, promotional activities, and market trends to identify demand drivers and refine forecasting methodologies.
- Monitor forecast accuracy and provide root cause analysis for significant variances, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to gather relevant data and insights, ensuring alignment on demand plans across the organization.
- Manage inventory levels to optimize service levels while minimizing carrying costs and obsolescence.
- Participate in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes, presenting demand plans, highlighting risks, and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in demand planning.
- Prepare and present regular reports on forecast performance, inventory health, and key demand planning metrics to management.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain analysis.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas) and statistical analysis techniques.
- Experience with demand planning software (e.g., SAP APO, Oracle Demantra, JDA/Blue Yonder, Kinaxis).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPIM, CSCP).
- Experience in the consumer goods, manufacturing, or retail industry.
