Hiring.zycto is excited to announce an opening for an Entry-Level Tiler to join our dedicated team in Downtown, New Bedford. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and reliable individual to embark on a rewarding career in the skilled trades, learning the intricacies of tile installation from the ground up. As an Entry-Level Tiler, you will work closely with our experienced craftsmen, gaining invaluable hands-on experience on diverse projects ranging from intricate backsplashes to expansive flooring installations in both residential and commercial settings.

You’ll start by mastering foundational techniques such as preparing surfaces, mixing various types of mortar and grout correctly, and understanding different tile materials and their applications. Your day-to-day will involve assisting senior tilers with material handling, measuring and cutting tiles under supervision, ensuring job sites are clean and organized, and learning to identify and rectify common installation challenges. This role is not just about laying tiles; it’s about understanding the entire process, from initial client consultation to the final finishing touches.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced tilers with all aspects of tile installation, including setting, grouting, and sealing.
- Prepare surfaces for tiling, which involves cleaning, leveling, and applying appropriate primers or membranes.
- Accurately measure, cut, and shape various types of tiles (ceramic, porcelain, stone) using hand and power tools under supervision.
- Mix and apply mortar, grout, and adhesives according to manufacturer specifications and project requirements.
- Transport materials and tools to and from job sites, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper disposal of waste and debris.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, utilizing provided safety equipment.
- Actively participate in learning and applying best practices for tile installation and repair techniques.
Required Skills
