Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking an accomplished and highly motivated Site Superintendent to lead and oversee our construction projects in the Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol area. As a Site Superintendent, you will be the linchpin between project management, subcontractors, clients, and your site team. Your day-to-day will involve meticulous planning, proactive problem-solving, and decisive leadership. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and timelines.
- Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive site safety plans and procedures, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections.
- Coordinate and schedule all trades and subcontractors, ensuring efficient workflow and optimal resource allocation.
- Monitor project progress against schedule and budget, providing regular updates to Project Managers and identifying potential delays or cost overruns.
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure all work meets required standards and specifications.
- Resolve day-to-day site issues and conflicts efficiently, making informed decisions to keep the project on track.
- Maintain accurate daily site logs, progress reports, and documentation.
- Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Manage the ordering, delivery, and storage of materials and equipment.
- Mentor and lead site personnel, fostering a productive and collaborative work environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Site Superintendent or similar role in commercial or residential construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations (e.g., CDM Regulations).
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- HNC/HND or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Experience with sustainable construction practices or BREEAM projects.
- Professional membership with relevant industry bodies (e.g., CIOB).
