Job Description
Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Remote QA Engineer to join our growing team. As a Remote QA Engineer, you will work closely with our geographically dispersed development, product, and design teams. Your responsibilities will span the entire software development lifecycle, from participating in initial requirements gathering and design discussions to conducting comprehensive testing and ensuring successful deployment. You will be expected to design, develop, and execute robust test plans and test cases for both new features and existing functionalities, leveraging your expertise in various testing methodologies including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
A key aspect of this role involves contributing to and evolving our test automation framework. We believe in shifting left and automating repetitive tasks to enhance efficiency and accelerate our release cycles. Proficiency with modern automation tools and a desire to write clean, maintainable, and scalable test scripts will be highly valued. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web and mobile applications.
- Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track bugs using bug tracking systems and collaborate with development teams for resolution.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of automated test frameworks and scripts.
- Participate in requirement reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning sessions to ensure testability and quality.
- Monitor and report on test execution progress and product quality metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, product managers, designers) in a remote environment.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices throughout the SDLC.
- Continuously research and recommend new tools and methodologies to improve the QA process.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of professional experience as a QA Engineer or similar role.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC).
- Proficiency with test management and bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, TestRail).
- Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium).
- Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Swagger).
- Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification or higher.
