Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and welcome guests upon their arrival, seating them and presenting menus.
- Provide detailed information about menu items, daily specials, and beverage selections, offering recommendations as needed.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders, utilizing our POS system, and relaying them to the kitchen and bar staff.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and efficiently, ensuring all items meet quality and presentation standards.
- Regularly check on guests to ensure satisfaction, address any concerns, and anticipate their needs.
- Process payments accurately, handle cash and card transactions, and manage billing for tables.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, including tables, chairs, and server stations.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other team members to ensure smooth service operations.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, as well as alcohol service laws.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down dining areas.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Server in a restaurant or similar hospitality setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and engaging demeanor.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of food and beverage service principles and guest relations.
- Proficiency in using Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Smart Serve certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a fine dining or high-volume establishment.
- Knowledge of various cuisines, wine pairings, and cocktail preparations.
- Ability to speak multiple languages, an asset in a diverse city like Toronto.
