Job Description
As an Athletic Therapist – Professional at Hiring.zycto, you will be a pivotal member of our dynamic healthcare team, dedicated to providing exceptional preventative, immediate, and rehabilitative care for musculoskeletal injuries. Based in our state-of-the-art Willowdale East clinic, you will work within a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment, engaging with patients across various activity levels, from recreational enthusiasts to high-performance athletes. This includes individuals recovering from acute sports injuries, chronic overuse conditions, and those seeking performance enhancement or injury prevention strategies. Your day will involve conducting thorough clinical assessments, developing individualized, evidence-based treatment plans, and implementing a wide range of therapeutic interventions. This includes advanced manual therapy techniques, targeted therapeutic exercise prescription, appropriate modality application, and structured, progressive return-to-play or return-to-activity programming. You will be responsible for educating patients extensively on injury prevention strategies, proper movement biomechanics, and effective self-management techniques to empower them throughout their recovery journey and beyond. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive musculoskeletal assessments and evaluations to identify injuries and functional limitations.
- Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans for acute and chronic injuries.
- Perform manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercise prescription, and modality application.
- Design and oversee progressive return-to-play/return-to-activity programs for athletes and active individuals.
- Educate patients on injury prevention, biomechanics, posture, and self-management strategies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with professional standards and clinic policies.
- Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, chiropractors, and physicians.
- Actively participate in clinic meetings, case conferences, and continuous professional development activities.
- Contribute to the positive reputation of the clinic through excellent patient care and professional conduct.
- Stay current with advancements in athletic therapy research and best practices.
Required Skills
- Certified Athletic Therapist (CAT(C)) in good standing with the CATA.
- Registered with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (COKO) if applicable.
- Minimum of 4 years of clinical experience in athletic therapy.
- Demonstrated expertise in musculoskeletal assessment and injury rehabilitation.
- Strong manual therapy skills and therapeutic exercise prescription knowledge.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education abilities.
- Proficiency in clinical documentation and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with a diverse athletic population, from amateur to professional levels.
- Post-graduate certifications in relevant areas (e.g., dry needling, concussions, advanced manual therapy).
- Experience in sports event coverage or team sideline support.
- Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the local community.
