Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced painters with various tasks on residential and commercial job sites.
- Learn and perform surface preparation, including cleaning, sanding, patching, and masking.
- Help set up and clean up work areas, ensuring adherence to safety protocols at all times.
- Assist with mixing and matching paint colors under supervision.
- Learn proper application techniques using brushes, rollers, and potentially sprayers.
- Maintain tools and equipment, keeping them clean, organized, and in good working order.
- Follow instructions diligently and proactively ask questions to enhance learning and understanding.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and productive team environment.
- Transport materials and supplies to and from job sites as needed and safely.
Required Skills
- Strong willingness to learn and develop new skills in the painting trade.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and diligently.
- Excellent work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Physical capability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Commitment to adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Basic communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in any hands-on labor, construction, or general maintenance role (even unpaid or volunteer).
- Valid G driver's license and access to reliable transportation to various job sites within Toronto.
- Enthusiasm for transforming spaces and a keen eye for detail and quality.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks, as well as collaboratively within a team.
