Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Dialysis Center Technician to join our esteemed team in Como Park, St. Paul. This pivotal role involves providing direct patient care, operating and maintaining dialysis equipment, and ensuring a safe, sterile, and comforting environment for individuals undergoing life-sustaining treatment. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for dialysis treatment, including obtaining and recording vital signs, weight, and assessing patient condition.
- Set up, operate, and monitor hemodialysis machines and related equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety.
- Initiate and discontinue dialysis treatments, including proper cannulation techniques and adherence to sterile procedures.
- Administer prescribed medications under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and document accurately.
- Monitor patients during treatment for adverse reactions, changes in condition, and intervene as necessary, reporting findings to the nursing staff.
- Document all treatment parameters, patient observations, and interventions thoroughly and accurately in electronic health records.
- Educate patients and families on dialysis procedures, dietary restrictions, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe treatment environment, including proper disinfection of machines and equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control checks on dialysis equipment.
- Participate in team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuous education programs.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, CDC, ESRD network guidelines).
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Current certification as a Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) or equivalent state licensure/certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a direct patient care role, preferably in a dialysis setting.
- Proficiency in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting hemodialysis machines.
- Strong understanding of vascular access and cannulation techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment, both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and electronic health record management.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a healthcare-related field.
- Experience with various dialysis machine models and electronic charting systems.
- Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification.
