Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior designers in creating detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings using industry-standard software.
  • Learn and apply company design standards, drafting procedures, and quality control processes.
  • Revise and update existing drawings and models based on design changes or feedback.
  • Maintain organized project documentation, ensuring accurate record-keeping of all design iterations.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
  • Participate in design reviews, actively contributing ideas and learning from experienced professionals.
  • Continuously seek to improve CAD skills and stay updated with new software features and industry trends.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in at least one major CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360)
  • Strong understanding of technical drawing principles and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic knowledge of engineering principles and materials
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Problem-solving aptitude and a willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or Vocational Certificate in CAD Design, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, fabrication, 3D printing)
  • Experience with PDM/PLM systems
  • Portfolio showcasing academic or personal CAD projects
