Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Support residents with mobility, transfers, and ambulation, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Serve meals and assist residents with eating and hydration, monitoring intake.
- Engage residents in social activities, conversations, and therapeutic recreation programs.
- Monitor and report changes in residents' physical or mental health status to nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment for residents.
- Document care provided and observations accurately and promptly.
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, and team members.
- Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
- Provide emotional support and companionship, promoting resident well-being and independence.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and patience for seniors.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to understand and follow instructions meticulously.
- Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain immediately).
- Previous volunteer experience in a healthcare or elder care setting.
- Understanding of cultural diversity and sensitivity to individual resident needs.
- Fluency in languages other than English is considered an asset.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills.
