Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a professional, reliable, and highly skilled CDL Driver to join our dynamic team in Yate, Bristol. As a crucial member of our logistics operation, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across designated routes, primarily within the South West region and occasionally further afield. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate commercial vehicles (e.g., Class 1 or 2 HGV) in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
  • Transport goods securely and efficiently to various destinations, managing time effectively to meet delivery schedules.
  • Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage.
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) and complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery manifests and fuel receipts.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members, providing updates on delivery status and potential delays.
  • Adhere strictly to all Department for Transport (DfT) regulations, including working time directives and tachograph rules.
  • Represent Hiring.zycto professionally at all times, maintaining a high standard of customer service.
  • Monitor vehicle performance and general maintenance requirements, escalating concerns to the appropriate department.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and presentability of the vehicle to uphold company standards.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class 1 (CE) or Class 2 (C) HGV License
  • Driver Qualification Card (DQC) / CPC
  • Digital Tachograph Card
  • Minimum 2 years (24 months) of commercial driving experience
  • Clean driving record with no more than 6 penalty points
  • Strong understanding of UK road safety regulations and driving laws
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading
  • Reliable, punctual, and highly organised

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with various types of trailers (e.g., curtain-siders, box trailers)
  • Forklift operator certification
  • Experience using electronic logging devices (ELDs)
  • Basic mechanical knowledge for minor roadside issues
  • First Aid certification
