Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a motivated and reliable Construction Site Laborer for an immediate full-time opening in the Bonnie Doon area of Edmonton. Key Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials by hand or with material handling equipment.
  • Assist skilled tradespersons such as carpenters, masons, electricians, and plumbers.
  • Perform general site cleanup and maintenance, including debris removal and waste management.
  • Operate various hand and power tools safely and efficiently (e.g., shovels, rakes, drills, grinders).
  • Dig trenches, spread gravel, and level earth as directed.
  • Follow all company and regulatory safety procedures and guidelines, including wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Maintain and clean tools and equipment, reporting any malfunctions or damage.
  • Erect and dismantle temporary structures, scaffolding, and barricades as required.
  • Assist with concrete pouring and finishing, including mixing, spreading, and vibrating.
  • Perform other laborer duties as assigned by the site supervisor or foreman.

Required Skills

  • Proven physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
  • Basic knowledge of construction site safety practices and procedures.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) certification.
  • Experience operating small construction equipment (e.g., skid steers, compactors) is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of blueprints or construction drawings.
