Hiring.zycto is seeking a motivated and reliable Construction Site Laborer for an immediate full-time opening in the Bonnie Doon area of Edmonton. Key Responsibilities
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials by hand or with material handling equipment.
- Assist skilled tradespersons such as carpenters, masons, electricians, and plumbers.
- Perform general site cleanup and maintenance, including debris removal and waste management.
- Operate various hand and power tools safely and efficiently (e.g., shovels, rakes, drills, grinders).
- Dig trenches, spread gravel, and level earth as directed.
- Follow all company and regulatory safety procedures and guidelines, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Maintain and clean tools and equipment, reporting any malfunctions or damage.
- Erect and dismantle temporary structures, scaffolding, and barricades as required.
- Assist with concrete pouring and finishing, including mixing, spreading, and vibrating.
- Perform other laborer duties as assigned by the site supervisor or foreman.
Required Skills
- Proven physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Basic knowledge of construction site safety practices and procedures.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) certification.
- Experience operating small construction equipment (e.g., skid steers, compactors) is a plus.
- Basic understanding of blueprints or construction drawings.
