Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise individuals in custody during daily activities, ensuring their safety and adherence to facility rules.
  • Conduct regular security checks of cells, communal areas, and facility grounds to prevent security breaches.
  • Respond effectively and appropriately to incidents, including disturbances, medical emergencies, and conflicts, utilising trained de-escalation techniques.
  • Maintain accurate records and write detailed reports on incidents, observations, and daily activities.
  • Facilitate and monitor visits, ensuring compliance with established procedures and security protocols.
  • Conduct searches of individuals, cells, and property for contraband, strictly following protocol.
  • Escort individuals within the facility and to external appointments as required.
  • Communicate professionally and clearly with individuals in custody, colleagues, and external agencies.
  • Participate actively in all required training and professional development programs.
