Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain accurate cost accounting systems, policies, and procedures.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, material, and overhead, to identify variances and trends.
- Prepare detailed cost reports, profitability analyses, and inventory valuations.
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to understand cost drivers and identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts for manufacturing costs.
- Conduct month-end closing activities related to inventory and cost of goods sold.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies, performing regular audits as needed.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics 365) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and cost accounting standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
