Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Distribution Center Managers in overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to company standards.
  • Learn and apply best practices in inventory management, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping processes.
  • Participate in daily operational meetings, contributing ideas and insights to optimize workflow and problem-solve challenges.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of safety procedures and quality control measures within the distribution center.
  • Gain proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software for tracking inventory and orders.
  • Shadow and learn from experienced team leaders and supervisors to understand effective team motivation and performance management.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facility equipment and report any maintenance needs or safety hazards.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, suggest improvements, and enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness.
  • Assist with training new hires on warehouse procedures and company policies.
  • Undertake special projects as assigned, contributing to strategic initiatives and operational enhancements.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and a proactive, eager-to-learn attitude.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education (diploma or degree) in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Previous experience (even part-time or seasonal) in a warehouse, manufacturing, or retail environment.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or inventory software.
  • Proven leadership potential through academic, volunteer, or prior work experience.
