Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed electricians with installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, and control equipment.
- Learn to interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications.
- Handle and transport materials and tools to and from job sites.
- Prepare and clean work sites, ensuring a safe and organized environment.
- Perform basic tasks such as pulling wire, bending conduit, and installing outlets/switches under supervision.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Complete all assigned tasks efficiently and effectively, always seeking to learn and improve.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
Required Skills
- Strong willingness to learn and a positive attitude.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented construction setting.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites in the Fort York area and surrounding GTA.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Enrollment or completion of a pre-apprenticeship electrical program.
- Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in a construction or trade-related field (even basic labour experience).
- Basic knowledge of electrical tools and their uses.
