Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide immediate medical assistance.
  • Assess patient conditions, determine the nature and extent of injury or illness.
  • Administer basic life support (BLS) including CPR, bandaging, and splinting.
  • Operate and maintain emergency medical equipment and supplies.
  • Safely transport patients to medical facilities while continuously monitoring their condition.
  • Document patient care activities and observations accurately and thoroughly.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Adhere to all medical protocols, safety regulations, and ethical standards.

Required Skills

  • Valid EMT certification (or pending completion) as per local regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding tasks.
  • Valid UK Driving License with a clean record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or public safety volunteer role.
  • Familiarity with the Aberdeen geographical area.
  • Additional certifications such as Advanced First Aid or Incident Command.
