Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the setup and teardown of fairground attractions, rides, and game stalls.
  • Operate various fairground games and ensure fair play for all participants.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, greeting visitors, answering questions, and assisting with general inquiries.
  • Ensure the safety of all patrons by adhering strictly to established operational and safety procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization across the fairground premises, including waste management and tidying.
  • Monitor equipment and report any malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
  • Handle cash and process payments accurately for games, concessions, or tickets (training provided).
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth and efficient event operations.
  • Assist with crowd control and guide visitors safely through the fairground area.
  • Participate in daily briefings and contribute to a positive, team-oriented atmosphere.

Required Skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Reliability and punctuality are essential.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift (up to 25 lbs), and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
  • A positive attitude and eagerness to learn new skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • First Aid/CPR certification (an asset, but not required).
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role or team environment (even non-fair related).
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays during peak seasons.
  • Basic cash handling experience.
