Job Description

Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and certified Fiber Optic Technician to bolster our dynamic team in Toronto. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated professional to play a pivotal role in the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of our cutting-edge fiber optic network. As a Fiber Optic Technician, you will be on the front lines, ensuring the robust and reliable connectivity that our customers depend on daily. Your expertise will directly impact businesses and residents across Moore Park and beyond, bringing high-speed data and communication to their fingertips and enabling seamless digital experiences.

In this full-time, on-site position, you will be responsible for a wide range of critical tasks. This includes the meticulous fusion splicing of various fiber optic cable types, intricate installations of optical distribution networks (ODN), and the precise testing and troubleshooting of complex network issues using advanced diagnostic tools. You’ll work hands-on with the latest industry-standard equipment, such as OTDRs (Optical Time Domain Reflectometers), optical power meters, and fusion splicers, ensuring every installation and repair meets our rigorous quality and performance standards. Adherence to safety is paramount at Hiring.zycto; you will be expected to strictly follow all company and industry safety protocols, ensuring a secure working environment for yourself, your colleagues, and the public.

Beyond the core technical demands, this role requires strong problem-solving abilities, a proactive approach to challenges, and a commitment to continuous improvement. You will be tasked with interpreting engineering schematics, conducting thorough field surveys to assess site readiness, and meticulously documenting all work performed. This meticulous record-keeping is crucial for accurate network mapping, efficient project management, and future maintenance. The successful candidate will not only possess the necessary certifications and technical prowess but also exhibit excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members, project managers, and, on occasion, direct interaction with clients to explain technical issues or solutions.

At Hiring.zycto, we believe in empowering our employees with ongoing training and development opportunities. You will have the chance to expand your skill set, stay abreast of emerging fiber optic technologies, and advance your career within a supportive and innovative environment. If you are a detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and driven individual passionate about fiber optics and committed to building the future of connectivity, we encourage you to apply and become a vital part of our growing success. Join us in making a tangible impact on the digital landscape of Toronto.
