Key Responsibilities
- Provide general on-set assistance to various departments (e.g., camera, lighting, sound, art) as needed.
- Assist with equipment setup, breakdown, and transportation, ensuring proper handling, safety, and organization.
- Run errands efficiently, including picking up supplies, props, or craft services, and managing petty cash.
- Maintain a tidy and organized production area, including trailers, tents, and set locations, ensuring cleanliness and order.
- Support cast and crew needs, including managing schedules, distributing call sheets, and addressing immediate logistical requirements.
- Assist with crowd control, talent wrangling, and ensuring adherence to production timelines and schedules.
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as logging data, managing releases, and organizing production documents.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work long and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, and adapt to changing schedules.
- Proactive, resourceful, and effective problem-solver under pressure.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and stand for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of film production terminology and set etiquette.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a volunteer, student, or independent film production setting.
- Post-secondary education or certification in film, media arts, broadcasting, or a related field.
- Familiarity with local Kelowna and British Columbia film resources, locations, and vendors.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Proficiency with basic office software (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office).
