Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security access and detect security vulnerabilities using various security tools and platforms.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of network traffic, logs, and system alerts to identify potential security incidents and indicators of compromise.
- Perform incident response, including investigation, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-mortem analysis.
- Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot security solutions such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and antivirus systems.
- Develop and update security policies, standards, and procedures in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, and recommend remediation strategies.
- Participate in security audits and provide evidence of compliance with security frameworks.
- Provide security awareness training and guidance to internal staff.
- Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies to inform defensive strategies.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure security is integrated throughout the system development lifecycle (SDLC).
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSL/TLS, SMTP).
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, ELK Stack) for log analysis and correlation.
- Experience with firewall management (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Check Point).
- Knowledge of Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS) like Snort or Suricata.
- Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys, OpenVAS).
- Proven experience in incident response and forensic analysis methodologies.
- Scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation and data analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to dissect complex security issues.
