Key Responsibilities
- Operate various types of forklifts (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck, order picker) safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve materials and products.
- Load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure handling of goods.
- Transport products and materials to designated areas within the warehouse, including staging, storage, and shipping/receiving.
- Perform daily pre-operation checks on equipment and report any malfunctions or damage immediately.
- Accurately pick and prepare orders for shipment, verifying quantities and ensuring product integrity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company standards and safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts and reconciliation of discrepancies.
- Collaborate effectively with warehouse team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Required Skills
- Valid Forklift Operator Certification (Ontario recognized)
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience operating various forklift types in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding and adherence to safety protocols and procedures
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Excellent spatial awareness and attention to detail
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Familiarity with scanning and inventory tracking devices
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent
