Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate various types of forklifts (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck, order picker) to load, unload, stack, and move materials.
- Perform daily pre-shift inspections of equipment and complete necessary logs, reporting any malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Execute inventory movements, ensuring accuracy in product placement and quantity tracking using scanning equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and provincial regulations (e.g., OHSA) at all times.
- Assist with general warehouse duties, including manual handling of materials, organizing inventory, and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
- Work collaboratively with the night shift team to meet production targets, operational deadlines, and maintain workflow efficiency.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and maintain current certifications.
- Document incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying counts and condition of goods against manifests.
Required Skills
- Valid Forklift Operator certification(s) (e.g., Counterbalance, Reach Truck, Order Picker).
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable experience operating forklifts in a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
- Strong understanding and adherence to warehouse safety protocols and procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Proven ability to work independently and maintain high productivity during night shifts.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for documentation and inventory accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with inventory management systems (WMS) and RF scanners.
- High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience operating multiple types of material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with cold storage environments or specific industry materials.
