Key Responsibilities

  • Performing regular audits of health records to identify and correct errors, improving overall data quality.
  • Utilizing health information management systems and software effectively for data entry, retrieval, and reporting.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding systems
  • Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office space

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or higher in Health Information Technology or a related field
  • RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) certification
