Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Provincial Policy Advisor to join our dedicated team in Downtown Sudbury. This pivotal full-time role offers a unique opportunity to influence public policy at the provincial level, contributing to initiatives that directly impact communities across Ontario. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on provincial policy issues, legislative frameworks, and socio-economic trends.
  • Develop and draft evidence-based policy recommendations, reports, briefs, discussion papers, and presentations for various audiences.
  • Monitor, analyze, and interpret provincial legislation, regulations, and government announcements relevant to organizational objectives.
  • Engage with internal departments, external stakeholders, advocacy groups, and government representatives to gather insights and build consensus.
  • Provide expert policy advice and strategic counsel to senior management on complex provincial matters.
  • Lead and participate in working groups, committees, and consultations related to policy development and implementation.
  • Assess the potential impact of proposed policies and legislative changes on the organization and the public.
  • Represent the organization at external meetings, forums, and conferences as required.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic plans and advocacy campaigns.
  • Ensure policy initiatives are aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and values.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in policy research, analysis, and development at a provincial level.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with ability to draft clear and persuasive policy documents.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to interpret complex data and issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • In-depth understanding of Ontario's legislative and regulatory environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and research tools.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Law, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of direct experience working with or within provincial government ministries or agencies.
  • Familiarity with specific policy areas relevant to Northern Ontario or broader provincial initiatives.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience with public consultation processes and stakeholder engagement strategies.
