Job Description

Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a highly analytical and experienced Inventory Control Manager to lead our logistics operations from our Ontario Power Building location in Toronto. This pivotal role demands a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and a proven track record in optimizing inventory management systems within a fast-paced logistics environment. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our inventory, from accurate forecasting and procurement to meticulous warehousing and distribution. As our Inventory Control Manager, you will be instrumental in maintaining optimal inventory levels, minimizing obsolescence, and maximizing cost efficiency across our supply chain. You will analyze historical data, predict future demand, and implement innovative strategies to enhance inventory accuracy and operational performance. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust inventory control procedures and best practices to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage and oversee daily inventory operations, including receiving, storage, dispatch, and returns.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventory audits; investigate and reconcile discrepancies promptly.
  • Utilize advanced analytics and forecasting techniques to optimize inventory levels, minimize carrying costs, and prevent stockouts or overstocking.
  • Lead, train, and mentor a team of inventory control specialists, fostering a high-performance and safety-conscious work environment.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, and sales teams to align inventory strategies with business demand and operational goals.
  • Identify and implement process improvements using lean principles and new technologies to enhance inventory visibility and control.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on inventory performance, including turnover rates, obsolescence, and accuracy metrics, for senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards related to inventory management.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in Inventory Control or Logistics Management, preferably in a high-volume environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP/WMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, JDE Edwards).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise in data interpretation and forecasting.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain principles and logistics operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) or similar professional certification.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma).
  • Familiarity with inventory optimization software.
