Job Description

As an Irrigation Technician in training, you will work alongside our experienced team, learning to install, maintain, diagnose, and repair a wide range of irrigation systems for residential, commercial, and municipal clients. This role is fundamental to ensuring the health and vibrancy of our clients’ landscapes, contributing directly to sustainable water management practices in our community. You will gain invaluable experience with various system components, including controllers, valves, pumps, sprinklers, and drip irrigation, mastering both traditional and smart water-saving technologies.
Your day will be varied and engaging, involving everything from new system installations and seasonal start-ups/winterizations to troubleshooting complex issues and performing routine maintenance checks. You’ll develop strong problem-solving skills, learn to read blueprints, and become proficient in using specialized tools and equipment. Beyond the technical aspects, you’ll also cultivate strong client communication skills, providing professional and courteous service on every job. Key Responsibilities
- Participate in hands-on training for the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems.
- Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with controllers, valves, sprinkler heads, and other system components.
- Learn to perform seasonal start-ups and winterizations of irrigation systems.
- Help with new irrigation system installations, including digging trenches and laying pipes.
- Monitor and adjust irrigation schedules to optimize water usage and plant health.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and system specifications.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding project progress and solutions.
- Operate and maintain various tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Strong willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort with hand tools.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications
