Job Description

Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Landscaper for Maintenance to join our dedicated team in Pointe-Claire, Montreal. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine lawn care tasks including mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing.
  • Cultivate and maintain garden beds, including weeding, mulching, and planting seasonal flowers and shrubs.
  • Prune trees, shrubs, and hedges to promote healthy growth and desired aesthetics.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools.
  • Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides safely and effectively, following all guidelines.
  • Ensure properties are clean and free of debris, including leaf removal and general clean-up.
  • Monitor the health of plants and turf, identifying and reporting issues such as pests or diseases.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects efficiently and to high standards.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding job progress, challenges, and equipment needs.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of proven experience in landscape maintenance or groundskeeping.
  • Proficiency in operating various landscaping tools and equipment.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Valid Quebec Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of plant care and horticultural practices.
  • Fluency in English or French.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or certification in Horticulture, Landscaping, or a related field.
  • Experience with snow removal and ice management during winter months.
  • Familiarity with Quebec's climate and plant species.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is a significant asset.
  • Certification in pesticide application (e.g., CPAQ).
  • Experience operating heavier machinery like skid steers or mini excavators.
