You will strategically curate and meticulously maintain our diverse collection, encompassing both print and digital resources, ensuring it continually meets the evolving needs and interests of all users, from inquisitive young learners to seasoned lifelong scholars. Your commitment to intellectual freedom and accessibility will underpin all collection development decisions.

Beyond traditional library services, you will be instrumental in conceptualizing, developing, and delivering a dynamic range of innovative programming, workshops, and community events designed to inspire, educate, and entertain. This includes reading clubs, digital skills training, cultural showcases, and collaborative projects that actively engage residents of Kingswells and the wider Aberdeen area. Your creativity will be key to making our library a vibrant hub of activity and interaction.

Your expertise will guide patrons through both physical shelves and intricate digital landscapes, providing expert assistance with research inquiries, navigating complex online databases, and promoting essential digital literacy skills. We’re seeking a proactive, empathetic individual who is profoundly passionate about connecting people with the right information at the right time, and who is deeply committed to providing an exceptional, user-centric experience for every visitor. You will competently manage daily circulation services, ensure accurate and consistent cataloguing of new acquisitions, and uphold the integrity of our library management systems. This role demands a harmonious blend of foundational library science principles with a forward-thinking, adaptable approach to integrating new technologies and fostering robust community engagement. You’ll contribute enthusiastically to a collaborative team culture, working closely with colleagues to continuously enhance services, expand outreach efforts, and contribute to the library’s strategic goals. If you are a dedicated professional with a clear vision for modern librarianship, a strong service ethos, and a desire to make a tangible, positive impact in a vibrant community, we invite you to bring your unique skills and unwavering passion to Hiring.zycto. Join us in building a future where information is truly accessible, learning is passionately celebrated, and community connection unequivocally thrives.
