Key Responsibilities
- Manage and curate the library's collection, including acquisition, cataloguing, and weeding of print and digital resources.
- Provide exceptional front-line customer service, assisting patrons with research, reference queries, and resource discovery.
- Develop, promote, and deliver engaging library programs, workshops, and events for diverse age groups and interests.
- Promote digital literacy and assist users with navigating online databases, e-resources, and technology.
- Oversee circulation services, including checking materials in/out, managing holds, and resolving patron account issues.
- Maintain the organization, cleanliness, and accessibility of the library space and its resources.
- Collaborate with colleagues on outreach initiatives, community partnerships, and strategic planning.
- Stay current with trends in library science, information technology, and community needs.
Required Skills
- Master's Degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS/MLS) from an ALA-accredited program or equivalent.
- Proven experience in library operations, including cataloguing, reference services, and collection management.
- Strong understanding of library management systems (LMS) and digital library platforms.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in information literacy, research methodologies, and digital resources.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
