Key Responsibilities
- Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in and around the pool area.
- Enforce all pool rules and regulations consistently and professionally.
- Recognize and respond immediately and effectively to aquatic emergencies.
- Perform water rescues and administer first aid, CPR, or AED as needed.
- Inspect the facility daily and report any unsafe conditions or equipment.
- Assist with maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the pool area, deck, and equipment.
- Complete necessary administrative tasks, including incident reports and daily logs.
- Educate patrons on safe swimming practices and facility guidelines.
- Participate in regular in-service training sessions and drills to maintain skills and certifications.
- Provide exceptional customer service and assist patrons with inquiries.
Required Skills
- Ability to pass a pre-employment swim test (e.g., 300-yard swim, brick retrieval).
- Strong swimming proficiency and comfort in various water depths.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and endurance to perform job duties, including standing, sitting, walking, and lifting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to obtain American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers, and First Aid certifications (training provided and compensated).
- A positive attitude and a strong commitment to safety.
