Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one or small group online tutoring sessions in specified subjects (e.g., Math, Science, English, Languages, Humanities).
- Develop and implement personalized lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and learning styles.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to help them achieve academic goals.
- Utilize online learning platforms and tools effectively to deliver engaging and interactive lessons.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and session details.
- Communicate regularly with students and parents/guardians regarding student performance and areas for improvement.
- Stay updated on curriculum changes and educational best practices.
- Adhere to company guidelines and policies regarding professional conduct and student interaction.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in at least two academic subjects (e.g., Math, English, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, History, French, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in using online meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet) and virtual whiteboards.
- Strong ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet home office environment.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles and abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in an relevant academic field or Education.
- Previous experience (paid or volunteer) in teaching, tutoring, or mentoring.
- Experience with K-12 or post-secondary curricula in Canada.
- Familiarity with various educational software and digital learning resources.
- Certification or license in teaching (e.g., B.Ed.).
