Hiring.zycto is seeking reliable, diligent, and physically capable individuals to join our dedicated team for critical Snow Removal operations at Toronto Island Airport. Key Responsibilities
- Operate various snow removal equipment including snowplows, snow blowers, and salters, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- Perform manual snow shoveling and de-icing of pedestrian walkways, stairs, entrances, and other designated areas.
- Apply de-icing agents (salt, sand, liquid de-icer) to surfaces as required to prevent ice formation.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all airport safety protocols, operational guidelines, and company policies.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure comprehensive snow and ice management.
- Monitor weather conditions and respond to snow events quickly and effectively, often on short notice.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper storage of tools and equipment.
Required Skills
- Proven physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous outdoor work in adverse winter weather conditions (cold, snow, ice).
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Valid G Class Driver's License with a clean driving abstract.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Reliable and punctual, with the flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) in snow removal, landscaping, or general labor.
- Experience operating heavy equipment (e.g., plows, loaders, tractors).
- Knowledge of airport ground side operations or similar high-security environments.
- DZ Class Driver's License or other relevant equipment certifications.
