Key Responsibilities
- Identify, research, and evaluate new international trade and investment opportunities for businesses in Grande Prairie.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to promote exports, attract foreign direct investment, and foster economic growth in the region.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to local businesses on market entry strategies, export procedures, trade regulations, and international business best practices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, industry associations, government agencies, and international partners.
- Represent Grande Prairie's trade and investment interests at national and international conferences, trade shows, and business delegations.
- Conduct market intelligence gathering and analysis to inform strategic decision-making and identify emerging trends.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and proposals on trade and investment opportunities and activities.
- Organize and facilitate B2B meetings, trade missions, and inward investment visits.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver integrated support to businesses.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in international trade, business development, or economic development (minimum 5 years).
- Strong understanding of international trade policies, agreements, and market dynamics.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships.
- Analytical mindset with excellent research and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel internationally and domestically as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in International Business, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Fluency in a second language (e.g., French, Mandarin, Spanish).
