Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and passionate UX Researcher – Professional to join our growing product team in Toronto. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between our users’ needs and our product development efforts, driving a user-centered design approach across various projects. You will be responsible for planning, conducting, analyzing, and reporting on user research activities, contributing significantly to the definition, design, and iteration of our innovative digital products.

As a UX Researcher – Professional, you will champion user empathy throughout the organization, transforming complex user behaviors and motivations into actionable insights. You will work closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and data scientists to identify research opportunities, define key research questions, and select appropriate methodologies to address them. Your expertise will guide product strategy, inform design decisions, and validate solutions through rigorous testing and iterative feedback loops. This role requires a strong understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research methods, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate research findings into compelling narratives that resonate with stakeholders at all levels. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute comprehensive user research studies (e.g., usability testing, interviews, surveys, field studies, card sorting, tree testing).
  • Identify appropriate research methodologies and tools to answer specific product and design questions.
  • Recruit and screen participants, ensuring representative samples for various research initiatives.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to uncover user behaviors, motivations, pain points, and needs.
  • Synthesize research findings into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations for product and design teams.
  • Present research insights and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels, influencing product strategy and design decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, engineers, and data analysts throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Maintain and evolve research best practices, contributing to the development of our internal research repository and knowledge sharing.
  • Advocate for the user throughout the organization, fostering a user-centric culture.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging research methods, and tools.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in UX research or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and storytelling abilities.
  • Proficiency with user research tools (e.g., UserTesting, Optimal Workshop, Qualtrics, Dovetail, Figma for prototyping).
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and product development processes.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Anthropology, Sociology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field.
  • Experience with A/B testing and experimentation design.
  • Familiarity with data analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude).
  • Experience mentoring junior researchers.
  • Portfolio demonstrating a strong understanding of UX research methodologies and impact on product outcomes.
