Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination and monitoring of various recycling programs and collection schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of waste streams, recycling volumes, and compliance data.
  • Conduct site visits to collection points to ensure proper segregation and presentation of materials.
  • Support the senior team in preparing reports on recycling performance and environmental impact.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and community members regarding recycling guidelines.
  • Help identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within recycling operations.
  • Participate in outreach and educational activities to promote recycling awareness.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety, environmental, and waste management regulations.

Required Skills

  • Strong interest in environmental sustainability, waste management, or recycling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Highers, HNC/HND, or degree) in Environmental Science, Geography, Sustainability, or a related field.
  • Previous volunteer or work experience in an environmental or waste management setting.
  • Knowledge of local recycling regulations and best practices.
  • A full UK driving license.
