This is an incredible entry-level opportunity for those with no prior experience in the field. We believe in building talent from the ground up, and we’re committed to providing comprehensive training to help you master the art and science of concrete finishing. You’ll learn to prepare, pour, level, and finish concrete surfaces for a variety of construction projects across Little Italy, Toronto, and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing concrete forms, ensuring they are clean, properly oiled, and securely in place before pouring.
- Work collaboratively with the concrete pouring team, guiding chutes, and using tools to spread freshly poured concrete.
- Learn and practice the techniques for floating, troweling, and edging concrete to achieve smooth, durable, and aesthetically pleasing finishes.
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools safely, including screeds, floats, trowels, and concrete vibrators, under supervision.
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment, ensuring a tidy and safe work environment at all times, and adhering strictly to all safety protocols.
Required Skills
- Strong willingness to learn and develop new trade skills in concrete finishing.
- Excellent physical stamina and the ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Reliability and punctuality, demonstrating a commitment to showing up on time and being a dependable team member.
- A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a diverse and dynamic construction crew.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety principles and a strong commitment to following all safety guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in any form of manual labor or outdoor work, demonstrating comfort with physical demands.
- Possession of a valid G driver's license with a clean driving record, which may be beneficial for site travel.
