Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of designated premises, both internal and external, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
- Monitor and operate CCTV and alarm systems, responding promptly and effectively to any alerts or suspicious activities.
- Control access points, verifying credentials, logging visitors, and ensuring only authorized personnel enter the premises.
- Respond to emergencies, alarms, and incidents such as theft, vandalism, fire, or medical emergencies, adhering to established protocols.
- Complete accurate and detailed incident reports, daily occurrence logs, and shift handover reports.
- Enforce company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all security and safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service and assistance to staff, visitors, and contractors in a polite and professional manner.
- Conduct routine checks of premises for hazards and maintenance issues, reporting findings to the appropriate department.
- Collaborate effectively with local authorities, emergency services, and management as required.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence
- Excellent observational and patrolling skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure and during emergencies
- Basic IT literacy for operating security systems and writing reports
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A proactive and vigilant approach to security duties
- Good physical fitness for prolonged standing, walking, and potential emergency responses
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (2+ years) in a similar security role (e.g., corporate, retail, industrial security)
- Current First Aid at Work certification
- CCTV Public Space Surveillance Licence
- Full UK driving licence with access to own transport
