Key Responsibilities
- Greet visitors, provide information, and answer questions about park facilities, rules, and local attractions.
- Conduct regular patrols of designated park areas to monitor conditions, identify safety hazards, and ensure compliance with park regulations.
- Perform light maintenance tasks including litter pick-up, emptying waste bins, and basic upkeep of park amenities.
- Assist with setting up and taking down equipment for park programs and special events as required.
- Report maintenance issues, emergencies, or unusual incidents to supervisors promptly and accurately.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all park visitors by adhering to established safety protocols and providing assistance in case of minor incidents.
- Maintain a friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor at all times, fostering a positive park experience.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an outdoor setting.
- Strong customer service orientation with a helpful and friendly attitude.
- Physical ability to perform duties requiring walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to handle various situations calmly and effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service, recreation, or outdoor-related role.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification.
- Knowledge of Calgary's park system, local flora, fauna, and recreational opportunities.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
